Dr. Wilfred Ochan. The UNFPA Midwifery focal person delivered a speech and harnessed the importance of the initiative and expressed UNFPA’s excitement to partner with the Ministry of Health and Center for Health Development and Research (CEHDAR) to provide training to agency focal persons on the mentorship programme. She mentioned that in healthcare, mentorship has continued to evolve and is acknowledged as an influential professional development tool for emerging healthcare leaders.

In the remarks, Dr. Barnabas Yeboah mentioned that key strengths of the programme focuses on personalized learning. The programme was piloted a year ago and the aim of the workshop was to draw a road map for both government and private health institutions towards the mentorship programme.

She highlighted practical ways used for mentorship, as piloted by Jhpiego. She introduced the horizontal and vertical mentorship, and they also incorporate Hospice and simulation.
